WATOTO WELCOMES 77 TO THE FAMILY

3 May 2011

Welcome Home

After a month's orientation at Watoto's Buloba village, 70 beautiful children with their 7 new mothers sang at the top of their voices and excitedly talked about how they were going to be welcomed into their new homes.

Accompanied by Watoto social workers and facilitators who had seen them through the orientation process, they entered Watoto's Suubi and Bbira Children's Villages with children and mothers running out to welcome their new brothers and sisters.

The intake is right on time for the first term academic holiday giving the children ample time to mix and mingle and get to know the place better as they wait to start school later in May.

Watoto is strongly committed to placing children in a safe family environment rather than large institutional orphanages. They become part of a family unit in the Watoto community living in individual homes. Each child remains part of their new family for life.

Through the Watoto Sponsorship programme, individuals and groups come alongside Watoto to rescue vulnerable children and women from poverty and destitution, restoring them to a life filled with hope and a future. A sponsored individual has multiple sponsors in order to provide the holistic care that is required to equip them for success in life.

If you haven't already sponsored a child, this is your opportunity to participate and bring a smile to thousands of eager faces in Africa looking for a home right now. If you already sponsor a child, get on board by committing to get a friend to do so.

Help us spread the word by becoming a Watoto Ambassador today. Start by spreading this story to everyone in your world through Facebook.
