After six months of dedicated rehearsals, Watoto Children's Choir 46 were on 12 January 2011 en route for their tour in Canada. The choir left Uganda for a six month tour, with Vancouver, BC as the first on the list of the regions to be visited. Under the charge of Team Leader, Steven Banyikiza Wamara, the team’s sole aim is to share a message of hope through life-changing performances by the children as ambassadors of the many orphaned and vulnerable children in Africa.

Matthew 5:7 - "Blessed are the merciful for they will be shown mercy," is the key verse for the team.
“There are many hurting people, but we believe that through this tour, God is going to change lives and we want to see them (people) experience the amazing love of Jesus Christ,” Steven said. "We are also looking forward to partnering with the people we will meet in North America because we have many homes in the Watoto Children's Villages that are empty and need to be filled with children. Through child sponsorship and strategic partnerships, Watoto can provide holistic care to many other vulnerable children in Africa."
11-year-old Jolly Neema, one of the children on the team excitedly comments: “I am going to meet new friends and maybe my sponsors too.”
Meanwhile, Choir 45 left last week for the US and will be travelling through the East Coast for six months. Hot on the heels, Choir 47 departed for Europe on 13th January, touching down in London for their first performance in Brentwood, Essex on 20th January 2011.
