Watoto's Restore Tour: Child Soldier No More last week completed its tour of Australia's northeastern state of Queensland. In spite of the floods that ravaged the region, the churches and all the people were very supportive of the team and responsive to the message of love and forgiveness.
Pastor Dean and his wife Nerida from New Hope Church in Toowoomba particularly recounted their experience from the floods. What stood out about all their recollections, is the very evident role of the Church being at the forefront, helping communities deal with the aftermath of the tragic event.
Very important too was the general realisation that swept across Australia that we need to be good neighbours and keepers of one another.
Most people who attended the live events were so appreciative and grateful for the opportunity. They were convinced that this message of God's love and His intervention in human tragedy and forgiveness was a timely one for this part of the world, especially at a time when people are in search of answers. And what an honour for Watoto's Restore Tour: Child Soldier No More all the way from Uganda to be right at the centre of this. To God be the glory.
