God never sleeps. He’s at work at all times and he’s not confined to church walls or a particular language. He is out there in the market place, seeking out his children, changing lives, one heart at a time..jpg)
We have had an amazing past few days in the Southern part of the States. These Spanish speaking cities have touched our hearts as we have in turn touched theirs. One church we visited, ‘El Passo’ (The Passage) really stands out. The language barrier that was in place due to the predominantly Spanish speaking church only seemed to further heighten their love and appreciation for the production. Team Leader and Watoto Church Gulu Senior Pastor Joe Ogwal opened the show with some welcoming Spanish remarks but got ‘stuck’ halfway and so resorted to English and a translator. Our effort was much appreciated however and the cheering and participation hiked up a notch thanks to the Spanish translations that ran throughout the production on the side screens.
After the show, one particular host home took a leader and two children out to a Mexican Restaurant. The waitress on their table was drawn into their conversation and shared her heart-breaking story of rejection, homelessness and hurt. With tears in her eyes, she told of how she was cast out of home by her own parents, left to fend for herself on the streets, and rejected by her family. Translating her story, the host father shared with the waitress the importance of letting go of all bitterness and hatred and releasing her family for treating her that way. The African proverb of focusing on a snake that has bitten you and healing that wound as opposed to chasing after the snake seemed to strike a chord with her, leading her to enable them to pray with her and she agreed to start going to church.
Topping this touching story off, the host father then went to pay the bill but found out that the man seated at the next table had already cleared the bill as he had been so struck by the conversation the group had been having. An invitation for great seats at the next Restore Tour Production was of course extended!
We continue to thank God for his provision and favour. Be part of the journey – find out when we are going to be in your city. Check out www.restoretour.com for our upcoming tour dates..jpg)
