Their voices were filled with the new-found passion and confidence they had gained. And the audience was moved as not a dry eye was left in the auditorium at Watoto’s Living Hope Graduation in Gulu.

The 2nd graduating class of 2011 were joined by the Watoto Church Gulu congregation to celebrate triumph over the tremendous trials the whole community had experienced in the aftermath of the war.
As testimony after testimony was recounted, the ladies expressed their gratitude for the medical and physical care they had been given. But the depth of their transformation was expressed in their stories of empowerment through trauma rehabilitation, adult literacy lessons, business and discipleship classes.
One mother excitedly explained, “After learning the basics of writing, I can now make transactions in the bank.”
Another mother mentioned how the customer-care and record-keeping lessons in the business class have helped her attract more customers and monitor her cash flow. She is now able to take her child to school.
Deeper than these developments, each lady radically testified of more fundamental transformations in their lives with the introduction of Jesus Christ, from whom they have learnt the power of love and forgiveness.

The ladies emphasised that without Christ, their health and businesses meant nothing.
