CHILDREN CONNECT WITH SPONSORS

6 April 2011

The children on Watoto Children’s Choir#49 were honoured to take time off their tour schedule, training for their upcoming tour of Australasia, to write letters of appreciation to their sponsors.

“The exercise is very important as the children get the opportunity to connect with their sponsors and have the chance to express sincere gratitude to them for their continuous care, support and gifts,” says Cynthia Asiimwe, one of the choir adults supervising the activity.

On this special day, two neat rows were laid out with sheets of paper and colourfully printed names of each child at the top right hand corner, and without hesitation, the children scribbled away… From the smiles that radiated on their faces, it was evident that they were eager to correspond with their sponsors. Conversation filled the room as they consulted with each other and giggled amongst themselves.

“Sponsors are like parents to the children and it’s important that they maintain a mutual relationship with them. Some sponsors have the opportunity to meet their children while on tour as hosts or attendees of a concert, while others make it a holiday in Uganda,” Cynthia comments.

All the children at Watoto correspond with their sponsors. If you are a Watoto sponsor, expect a beautiful letter from the child, mother or teacher you sponsor soon.

In 2011, Watoto intends to continue rescuing precious children from a hopeless future and turning their stories around with the love of Jesus. If you haven’t already sponsored a child, there is an opportunity to participate and bring a smile to thousands of eager faces across Africa looking for a home right now. If you already sponsor a child, get on board by committing to get a friend to do so.
