BINDING UP THE BROKEN HEARTED

12 November 2010

There is a verse in the Bible that can be found in Isaiah 61:1. It says “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent  me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners”.

Canada has been an opportunity for our team to do just that. Performing at Evangel Church in Kelowna, we later came to hear that in the audience were people from all sorts of undesirable backgrounds. One man in particular talked to an adult member of our team about his turbulent, sinful past of entanglement in drugs and sexual promiscuity. Now on the road to recovery, he responded to the call of forgiveness and reconciliation that night and has resolved to be ‘part of the solution, not part of the problem’ as he moves forward.

Next up was First Assembly Church in Calgary. Also in the audience during this service was a group of people from an addiction recovery programme nearby. Our message of healing,  forgiveness and reaching out to the unfortunate people around us seemed to ring home for this group and we are grateful to have had the opportunity to bring our story to them.

What an immeasurable impact this tour is having. Together with God, we’re in the business of binding up the broken hearted, proclaiming freedom for the captives and releasing people from darkness.

Be part of the journey! Find out when we are going to be visiting your city on www.restoretour.com.
