In 2011, we have seen a total of 451 ladies graduate from the programme having completed discipleship and counselling training, trauma rehabilitation, and business skills. 178 of the graduates were from Gulu, while 271 were from Kampala. The graduation services were vibrant and colourful and each of the ladies held their heads high with dignity, as each received a certificate.
For most of them, this was the first certificate they had received in their lives so you can imagine their excitement!
Mary, a 51 year-old mom said, “When my daughter came back from school in the evening she was very impressed and congratulated me upon my achievement.”
“At least now I also have something to show,” another lady said.
“The skills I have acquired are going to assist me in, not only improving my customer care skills, but also in my family and community in general,” said Sarah.
All the above would not have been possible if it was not for the generosity of our partners; all you ladies who have generously come along side your Ugandan sisters.
